Hi all. I have a relatively old computer. It's a BoxxTech workstation with 2x2 270's (2.0ghz), with 4Gigs of ram. I recently got my hands on another 4gigs for my machine.

I know that there are so many higher-end CPUs now but will the increase in Ram give me a significant or noticeable boost in performance?

As far as i know you won't, or should not see any real increase in speed. Atleast non that you will notice because it's only ram you upgrade so things affected are what you will be able to produce with the extra 4gb ram you installed in your machine. Besides that and increased system and software stability i can't say there's much of a difference.

But other people may have different opinions and experiences :)

It will increase the amount of geometry your renders can have and you will be able to render higher resolution and more multilights. But there won't be any render speed increase. That's a cpu's job (for now).
