Can't see much point in that...........the Q6600 is the ecconomical route into four-cores, it's a no-brainer on your budget imho. :)

I'm not sure if Vista Premium Home Edition is what you want for an operating system. It doesn't say if it is the 64-bit version, maybe that's assumed? 3 GB of ram is a little wimpy, depending on the size of scenes you have to export and whether you use multi-light a lot.

Personally, I'd go for the 45 nm, lower wattage cpus. They run cooler, have larger L2 cache and use less power.

because normally you can use the 32bit software on winXP64. or there is a 64bit version of it without the need to update.
(there are really only a few 32bit things that make problems under 64bit)
