i think it is caused by messy geometry, which is strange because it does not show up in MentalRay. When one of the non renderer type people saw it they thought it was a flaw in the plastic, so im gonna go with that, its a flaw in the plastic. ;)

The only thing im really not happy with is the opaque yellow colour. It does not look like LEGO yellow.

Thanks i am glad people like em. If i get in to the spring show, i have to do a few crazy high resolution still renders, they are asking for 36"X24"@300DPI which is stupid high res, like 10800X7200 :/

That's ridiculous resolution .... ,but if you have to do it --- that kind of resolution might warrant having you add some sick details like the little edges produced from the mould and micro scratches --- crazy stuff, ...you know.

yeah, its rather irritating. I figure i can do it closer to 150 DPI at least that wont take months to render =D

Here is an update to the image, it is the one that may be printed for the spring show. I found out i may be winning an award for it! =D

Image

i rendered it at 3000 pixels wide let it render for quite some time, i think it got to a shade level of 18, then i used a program called SizeFixer XL to blow it up to the 10800 pixels wide needed for the print.

Let me know what yall think!
