Any features you'd like to see implemented into Maxwell?

I vote for procedural system :)

I wish it will handle :

- reference to the object (position, altitude, orientation,…) for any parameters (like scale, orgine, any value of a shader, noise…)
(I know Vue infinite does it, but I don't know yet about houdini)

- reference to random (random by object, random by face, by group)
(this one is a must for reflecting glass. Very important. No other software i know does that) for any parameters…

(my 1St post be indulgent)

i was standing out on the street and i saw a hell of a lot old chewing gums on the floor.

so i had the idea of having a node for such a procedural system that automacially randomizes (scale, transform, rotate, blending amount, reflection, displacement, ...) a selection of images with their alphas and sticks them on top of the base material.

like this, just two or three images of a chewing gum (plus diffuse/alpha/displacement layers) could procedurally create a floor like this ...

yes yes yes

+1 for dirt, scratches, image randomizing, etc

perhaps even a standard random displacement to make planes and other geometry slightly more realistic without painting in ps every time?

other than that i can only second all the other wishes!

To be honest I do not need procedural maps in MR at all. I have happy with those I use in C4D. I can map it as I need, then bake to textures and use in MR.

I can imagine problems caused translating C4D noise to MR Noise, and same with all other applications. The pain for plugin developers...

The only thing I vote for is some kind of quick dirt - something like AO in C4D.

Hmm, procedurals will be a nice addition to MaxWell. I often use them in LightWave as an aAlpha channel for mixing two brickmaps to get a nice variation and avoid repeating. Me thinks that works fine for grass too.....

With max, you can make a render of a procedural and save it as a hi-res image.

Procedural materials please!
It would mean a lot to me.

Thanks,

For christmas, i'd like that + Single plane SSS :D

I can use my procedural textures from Form-Z into Maxwell. The Maxwell plug-in converts all my procedural textures into image maps as well as any bump maps etc.

Form-Z has an extensive procedural texture interface with lots of options.
