Hi!

I'm running Linux64 on 3 of my rendernodes atm, they run better, more stabile and faster. I really want to install it on the rest of my nodes, but I'm curious about the Linux version, is it shure that this version will be continued?

As well as I'm beta testing I'm also using my renderfarm in my every day work, thats why I'm abit insecure about if I should install linux on all my servers.

I dont think that many ppl are using linux so I would understand if it wasn't economical to develop this.

Also when updates arrives for win64/32/os, how long time after will the Linux64 version be released?

Best Regards Patrik

Hi Patrik,

Sorry for not replying earlier.
Yes, of course we will continue with the Linux version. Even though there aren't lots of people who use it, some of the biggest and most important studios run it, so all the more reason to continue its development.
Whenever we release updates or new versions, we always try to update all the OS and plug-ins at the same time, so the same goes for the Linux version.
It's really up to you whether or not to install Linux on the rest of your nodes... we will continue the development of the Linux version, so no reason there to hold back ;) Actually, we released a new Maya for Linux plug-in a few weeks ago.

Cheers,

Nicole

Yup me too. And can't get any response from support, so the company I was consulting with decided to go with fprim.

It sucks, I'd really like to get this working on linux. Especially command line. I hope they haven't folded.

Yeah, I use osx on my laptop, but for the servers Linux is the only option at most facilities.

Oh well.
