I know that these do work: Google Earth, Gimp 2.4.4, Filter Forge, Blender 2.45 (that's what I got installed), Irfan view, Xnview and Rivatuner. I don't know about the others.
I had very little problems with XP64 since I installed it. Only with my printer's drivers, but HP never treated my printer very well; it was discontinued some time after it was released.
If there are more problems can't remember them anymore.

- I would just add to whats already been said - make sure your printer has driver. or even a printer you are thinking of buying - as all don't support x64 - I've been looking at cheap colour lasers ( my lexmark 510 is now a very big paperweight!!) and been shocked that some are not x64 compatible.

Max, be careful, WD dosn't support 64bit OS allways. Last I bought a MyBook and must change it back, because the missing drivers. I bought a IOMEGA drive later and this works fine.

That's interesting to hear Micha, i didn't know about that. But i went googling after i read what you said and from what i can see it looks like it's often Vista both 32 and 64bit which has problems with these drives. And it looks like it's related to usb. But we'll see.. this week when it arrives i can tell you if it works or not as i have now installed XP64 here on my machine and finally got it up and running.

Btw, XP64 seems to respond quite a bit faster than XP32 and it transfers files much faster between hdd's compared to what it does on my XP32 installation. I decided to keep XP32 for games and other stuff and run XP64 on a separate hdd in a standard dualboot setup.

XnView ... I like it much. For example I need a wood texture - I look around at my hard disk per XnView thumbnail preview and if I found one, than I copy the path per Ctrl-C to to the texture UI of my render program. I like this workflow without to search the texture from within the texture UI of the renderer.
Or quick convert many files from one format to an other. Also it show HDRI files. Or you create a simple presentation per slideshow exe/scr output.
You can choose, that png alpha channels are shown or not. For example Vray for Rhino burn in the alpha information to PNG files. If I open this files in Photoshop, the background is missing. But per Ctrl+Shift+C I can copy the image with background from XnView to photoshop.
Also XnView show PDF and AVI. ... :D

And it has excellent file/memory management. Try opening a 4k image with Windows' default viewer, set it to 100% scale and pan around. A jerk-fest, totally inconvenient to work with.
XnView on the other hand is smooth as butter. That alone makes it my default image viewer.

I got one more question..

When rendering on low priority in XP64, should it still use so much cpu that you can barely type without it lagging ? because i think my system uses way to much cpu even on lowprio now in comparison to XP32 where i could run multiple renderings at the same time if they were all on lowprio. The system seems to be squeezing way more juice outta the cpu and other hardware now compared to XP32, is it just me or should it be like this ?
