Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

Most of the bad stuff goes on behind the scenes, often in pm or on Msn or similar. I got lots of shit there through those communication channels.

About betatesters, they represent the product so they should behave well no matter what happens, if they misbehave like this guy did then he represents the product in a bad way and ofcourse his poor behaviour goes way beyond just a pm as rumors spread like wildfire on internet, especially the bad one's. The betatesters and developers are closely tied together, in other words, if one brick fails, the entire brickwall comes crashing down..

The actions of one, affects everyone else.

And when it comes to output quality-wise, Fryrender is definitely in the same leaque as Maxwell, Indigo, Radium and Kerkythea.

This is just one of the recent Fryrender pics. If you say that this is not a high-quality output atleast in the same level as Maxwell you're a fool.

That still has the same kitch glossy CG feel to it that I don't like. In no way does that image come close to looking 'real'. The best Fry renders that i've seen (in my opinion) are from Dave Davidson. All credit.

yep.....this does look fake but there are far better fry pics to compare

It seems that no matter how many times we discuss this, we won't stop, until there is a clear difference between the two renderers.
Imo, this won't happen, at least for the next months... That is until Maxwell's next major update or until Fry will have it's realtime scene ....something, I don't remember.

So, what I understand so far is that Maxwell gives better results for the average user, Fryrender has better workflow and better material editor,
Maxwell has multilight to be proud, Fryrender has something similar, Maxwell has a great displacement method, Fryrender has aeronoise,.....
Anyway, they are both very good render engines.
I don't own Fryrender, I am really happy with Maxwell.
I won't change unless Maxwell stays quite behind from the competition. I think this won't happen.

I just believe that everybody should have the right of expressing his own opinion, without beeing attacked so fiercely...

It is frightening how quickly these threads descend into slagging matches.

Regardless of your views on the relative merits of the two packages, everyone here should really be thankful for Fryrender. It gave Maxwell the kick up the arse that it needed and helped turn it into the professional package that it is now. Think back to the alpha, beta and RC days of Maxwell and then realise how far things have come. The existence of Fryrender has played it's part in that journey.

Hey Max.... I didn't know you were a complainer!

It's funny to hear you talk, as I always though the grass was greener on the other side of Madrid... I Guess I was wrong

Thank you for your quick fry review... but I think I'm gonna stick with Maxwell for now :D I just don't have the coins to fry at 4gb of ram

oh - come on Max!

I know I'm not the only one that think you do wonderful stuff with Maxwell Render and have a lot of respect for you. Just ignore those belonging to the dark side of the force... :)

Mattia: Yes i agree, but i don't think that's gonna happen around here. In discussions like this which we had before on the forum it always turned ugly no matter what and how nice we tried to talk about it. Best would be to not discuss this at all, to instantly close such threads and forget about it all as they stir up people's emotions in a bad way.

Nik: I don't think it affects Maxwell that much, to some degree yes but it's a relative small percentage. I'd say it's a bit reversed, they pick inspiration from Maxwell for updates, features, fixes, support and more. But i don't know..

Leo: :) i complain if/when i see a need to. Been doing it here on Maxwell just as much as on Fry, it's just that on the Fry forum they take it so damn personally it's crazy. As if i were attacking them in person or something, never really experienced people who can't take feedback and criticism and use it in a positive way.

Isn't it mostly desert, sand and stuff in Spain :D i thought there's no grass there. Btw, don't take my review as something to base your thoughts about the engine on, try the demo and see how you like it. :)

Kurt: Thanks, but i have to improve. I feel my 3d and photography is on a low level now, it could and should be alot better. Inspiration and creativity been falling behind in the past year due to various issues.

Leo: Pffft, your gallery is not bad Leo. It's a good one! :) you can create stuff i can't do at all, and trust me i tried. Still can't get my head around archviz. Missed out on lotsa good jobs because of that.

def4d: Thanks :) but i was only saying what i think is true.

i think i understand what you mean, and let say you're right, i think that you're the one who learn and apply techniques in a pretty easy way on precise subjects, and one day the sum of all your knowledges will converge, and you'll do whatever you want, without pain!
Let me say if i'm wrong, but that day is really near!

I remember your firsts things here, when you were using a 800Mhz, and it was already awesome
