64 Bit versions of some of the big all in one solutions for modeling, animating, and rendering are either on the horizon or here, case in point, Maxon Computer has released a 64 bit Version of Cinema4D-

Are there any plans in the future/Maxwell Render 2?

That will be for 64 bit machines?

This would be something I'd like to see as well. Especially since it dosen't matter if your host program is 64 or not - since Maxwell is a stand-alone. This has my vote!

Mihai, just because it will run on Windows 32/64 and Linux 32/64 doesen't necessaraly mean it's a 64 bit program, it could be 32 bit.

what we want to know is whether maxwell will run if you use the 64bit version of cinema4d....we all know, that it runs on win xp x64.....

but it seems that you are not able to use it with a 64bit version of your 3d programm..

@ victor: are there any speed or quality improvements between the 32bit and the 64bit version?

for example, the Advanced Renderer2 of Cinema4d 64bit is quite faster then the 32bit version (same scene, 32bit: 1min 21sec; 64bit: 0min 57sec)

Changes in performance depend a lot on software design, sometimes you can find your software going slower when running in 64 bits. Tipically using 64 bits will involve higher memory data size, and this is usually a drawback for performance. We think that Maxwell will run at least at the same speed, but we will see when the code is released.

Victor, that's completely opposite of everything I've ever heard about 64 bit technology. Are you saying that there will be no performance gain and we may actually see a slow down in processing? I can't believe that there is absolutely no benefit in using a 64 bit application.

...and I still don't understand why doesn't Microsoft remove those ugly sounds and themes from windows pro version defaults.
i'm curious about how many years will take them to understand that nobody [%99 ] likes them.
when i setup windows, it tooks half an hour but getting rid of microsoft uglies takes days
I hope there's a microsoft personnel here to hear these facts
