Thank you all for your kind comments, i really appreciate.

To Bubbaloo: You are right about the tiling, it's a problem i face very often when i used a brush metal material. It's really hard to avoid this tiling when the texture is very very small.

To Adrian: well, i wish i could win more...who doesn't! But i think i have chosen the wrong job to become a millionaire

Thank you maxtage, iker, thomas and tea_bag.

To maxtage and tea_bag:
I don't used HDRi to light my products. To know more about my studio setup, take a look at this thread.

Edit: Just want to add that for the rendering done before 07.2007, i was using an home made LDR. You can see how i build it here.
Since 08.2007 i' m using some mxi emitter to recreate a photographic studio as explained in this tutorial by NL Team .

Rendering to another level! - especially the last blender/mixer.

Is the clock radio encapsulated in an outer transparent shell? I just noticed that... i'm trying to to get an encapsulated look but I always get an inner material that appear too dark.

And... I find if you make a massive map in Photoshop instead of patterning small maps in Maxwell that works better.

Yes, correct! It's a very old project so i think i used the beta 1.2.2 at that time. I don't remember I faced any rendering problem with the transparent shell on the top.

It seems to be working now - i don't think I had enough light on it. Is your encapsulated bit a plastic shell - i.e. like a shell with a thickness of 2mm or did you model a solid transparent glass/plastic 'block' and put the clock inside it to encapsulate it?

The transparent part is a shell with 2.5 to 3.5 mm thickness.

Just want to say that your renders are the best product visuals I have seen anywhere in any software. Thanks for the inspiration! As a relatively new Maxwell user I would really love to see Next Limit pay you to produce a detailed tutorial guidebook/video series showing how you set up your renders and finalise materials and lighting.

I'd pay good money for that let me tell you!

Keep up the great work.

I wanted to add that if some of you living in Europe have no money to by the latest 8 cores computer that can toast your maxwellrender in no time, you can always buy this amazing dual or quad core toaster at Russell Hobbs.

For more details, take a look here or here.

To Quigley:  Thanks...let me think about it
