hi everyone

i've been having nightmares trying to export from 3ds max 8 to maxwell studio. I recently loaded maxwell patch 1.6.6 and the new plugin, and now when i export a mxs file from max, some of the geometry is messed up (rotated, moved etc) in Maxwell Studio.

I've loaded some old files that i exported before the upgrade and they are fine.

Anyone else had the same prob?

cheers

It's a Studio bug and it will be addressed in a next update. The problem exists when using instanced geometry with different transformations applied to it (rotation, scaling etc), or to its pivot.
PS. If you render directly from 3dsmax, everything should be in the right place.

If you render from the plugin, it works and if you export to mxs and render from mxcl it works.
The moment you open the mxs in mxst, that's when the problems arise.
So you can still use Maxwell unless there is something you need to do in mxst that you can't do from the plugin.
