I use Revit to export my model to dwg format and liked it to 3dmax. My problem with maxwell 1.6, and It never happen with previous versions, is that the model display correctly in max but when I hit render somo of the geometry does not translate correctly or just they don't appear in maxwell render. Is this a bug or I am missing something?
thanks

That's a different problem with materials assigments Mihai. I am Affraid that this realise is not going to work for Revit/3dmax/maxwell user. I hope this problems can be fix as soon as possible.

It is most probably the "use instances" problem, just uncheck this options if you see weird geometry in the rendering.

Whoa - I had pretty much exactly the same problem - workflow = Revit to DWG to Max to MXST - the geometry was looking very Hadid - now, all is fixed (use instancing = unchecked) thanks!

Thanks that's great news but where do I check use intances?

Render global (F10)->Renderer Tab->General settings tab, 7th checkbox

PS. You have to uncheck it.

Bogdan, unchecking instances will also block my possibilites of exporting my instanced trees also?
thanks

Yes, by unchecking "Use instancing", all geometry will be exported as normal geometry.

thanks

It's not about planning. Simply it can't be done. It's geometry related, not product/workflow (VIZ/Revit/3dsmax or combinations of those) related. I've explained here why it won't work.
