new 1.6.6 plugin for max don't support 3d studio viz 2006...
I used max7 plugin as always but.... now this is the message : failed to initialize, error code 14001.
Help me thanks.

I am running the new plugin for max 7 with VIZ 2006 on win2k without any difficult. Therefore, there is no apparent inherent compatibility problem between the updated plugin and VIZ6.

Does Maxwell Studio work on that system? What operating system are you using? Try installing this package from Microsoft to see if it cures the problem:
