#25174
Hi there!
Had tried the mxi feature, found the file's too big, unchecked it, saved,
and it lost some information.
On reopening, I had to reassign. Some, not all materials had defaulted.

SMB

Edit:
Confirmation of all assigned materials one by one before saving keeps the data.

SMB,

What steps are you taking ? Is this repeatable ? (can you help me repeat it)

Here I tried:

1. Start new file
2. create five spheres and assign a different material to each
3. Save and close
4. Re-open
5. Cceck the mxi option and render
6. stop the render
7. save and close
8. re-open and uncheck the mxi option
9. Save, close, re-open, check materials

The materials were still there.

I have seen the materials being defaulted before (even in the previous Rhinoll version) but I can't tell if it is related to the mxi option or something else.

Hi Thomas,
is repeatable here. When I started noticing this behaviour, I had been checked the option to save the mxi, to try it. All materials were assigned, the file saved. A backup of this file opens any time with all mats intact.
But when I unchecked the mxi option, because it was half a giga, and saved, on reopen part of the mats were gone.
I have no idea, on what other occasions related this behaviour occurs. I cannot try, no time.

Edit: Did not carefully read what you said: It should have happened with your spheres too, if being a general bug.
Hm. Just wanted to post it. I had stuff loosing its mat before 0.5.5 and tried to track it down. Grouped or not, selected by selectlayer or not, wasn
't consistent.
