Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

I think the issue here is that we are using an incomplete and buggy piece of software that is still in development. If you’re using Vray 1.5 your not to worried about when the next update is coming or when the new version is going to be released because you’re working with a fully functional program. You have all the tools you need available to you in that case and your not having to work around big problems to get your work done. With Maxwell we're still trying to get the sky the right color or try and figure out a way to get 25 high poly trees in a scene because we don't have instancing. Add to that we don't know what features we're waiting for or when we might get them and I think you can see why people get sick and tired of this little waiting game.

Hi everyone,

We are definitely not playing any waiting game. We are simply making sure everything is ready for a strong release. That's not easy considering we've got 10 plug-ins on 3 o/s to take care of, and there's also a lot to prepare on other fronts including manuals, websites, information for different people (clients, resellers, press, etc) and much more.
I'm just asking one more time for your patience. We are working hard to get the release out, and more people asking "where is the update" is not gonna help anything. I see the same people here asking the same questions over and over again, but the answer, whether you like it or not, is still that this is ready when it's ready. There's no point in asking for the millionth time "where is the update", and neither is there any point in adopting a mocking attitude. As I've mentioned on several occasions, this is a technical forum and not a bar.
We have given you quite a lot of information/ previews of what is going to come in this release, so you're not entirely in the dark in that respect. I have also already mentioned that we haven't announced everything, so some surprises are coming.

Cheers,

Nicole

Where is the update?

Look it made no sense :D
You'll enjoy 1.6 very very soon, try to enjoy your limited time left with 1.5.1 ;)

Oh, did I say 1.6, well who cares? :) It IS much better about every single byte!

Although I understand all of you guys asking for the new update, we have also to understand that these people are working, I don't know if they work hard or not, that's not the point, they make a living this way and they certainly don't want to stay out of business, so they deserve some respect...
I have to agree with Nicole, that we already have some info on the new release, much more than most of other companies give away... Autodesk for example.

I have some problems with Maxwell especially with rendering times but I know that this will always be an issue.
I have problems with sun/sky system but I know that this will be corrected.
I have problems with dielectrics but I know that we have to wait for a future release and that there will be some improvement with the upcoming update too.
I have problems with interior renderings because they stay noisy even after 50 hours and this makes Maxwell almost useless for production.

BUT this attitude won't help... We are all free to use any other renderer and please don't start that "we paid for Maxwell..." thing because there is nobody here that hasn't earned more money with Maxwell than what he paid for it.

So, even that I am one of you, waiting with no - believe me- patience at all, please don't attack to honest working people just because they have not the man power to finish the job faster or because they made a bad estimation of time...
