I can't load IOR-files in the Maxwell material in MAX7(.5). I have not tried this in the newer Max-versions, but I have an urgent project in Max7 now. Please correct this...

Yes this happens to me too. It adds a weird x86 string to the Program Files path, so Maxwell won't find the IOR file.

You can enter the ior file path manually to get it work.
Works for me at least...

My work around:

Open Notepad, type full path, copy, paste in IOR path field.

Works fine.
