I made a little scene (1 plane, 1 sphere, 2 emitters) to compare the performance of Maxwell running on Windows XP SP2 32 bits and Ubuntu 7.04 64 bits.

The results were:
Windows SL 11.00 Benchmark 103.429 Time: 13m14s
Ubuntu SL 11.00 Benchmark 66.492 Time: 20m34s

Is this normal? Somebody has experienced something similar?
Sytem: Asus p5B, intel e6400, 2 Gb RAM

It looks terrible, but I can;t even get it to properly run on my Kubuntu box right now and I have 4 gigs of RAM that was looking forward to using on the Maxwell 64
