I am having the same luck you are...none...I cant even create a simple plane and teapot and render it with out max and maxwell crashing out. I am also getting the same "vertex" errors. Even doing the following in Max 9 crashes, File->Export->export as test.mxs

so do i...im not sure....i have uninstalled and reinstalled 1.5 and the plugin on both my laptop and workstation and no dice, it just crashes everytime!!! I mean I made a new scene and forget that, that is crashing a damn teapot and plane. My PC specs are as follows for any NL people reading this

Workstation

Dual Xeon 3.0 Nocona
2 GB ram
nvidia quadro fx 1300
Vista 32bit
Max 9 SP1 and Productivity Booster

Laptop

Alienware m5500
2.26 Pentium M
nvidia gefoce go6600
2gb ram
Vista 32bit
Max 9 SP1 and Productivity Booster

PS:
Productivity Booster is an addon that the MAX team gave all subscription members it adds some features to Max 9 fixes some bug, give you directX 10 support for vista

this is happening on both my machines and i am using the same workflow on each

Jeff, could you please share the scene for some tests?. bogdan.coroi@gmail.com

Edit: Can we have the dump file too please? It's placed in your temp directory and named 3dsmax_minidump.dmp. Be sure get it from there exactly after the crash. Thanks.

Can you zip it or at least send the dump file?
Also, can you please send the scene with the plane and the teapot to make some tests on it? Here seems to work just fine on every version of 3dsmax.
Thanks.

Yes, thank you Jeff.
We are making tests on it right now. Also, I'll let you know by e-mail about the progress and I'll post here the conclusion.

i first open an older max scene, and didn't have pbs
it's a quite simple scene (a plane, 4 emitters with ML active, and a gemstone), so i didn't cover all the fonctions
Will let you know for my tonight tests
