What sould i do to completely reinstall Cinema4D on a Mac, so that it asks for serials again and so on?
Plain removing of Cinema 2D folder seems not enough.
Please help! My install seems to be broken somewhere!

Saturday, 6:40 am - life demonstration of a bug hunt

Yep, I was asking over there, but we have no good answer yet. Either
nobody seem to know, or the people who know don't want to deliver data
which could eventually help a cracker.

Searching myself I found a few things that might be worth a shot:

Look into your ~/Library/Preferences folder, the one in your user folder.
This is the logical place to put these things on OS X.

There you should find a couple of files starting with mca...
and eventually also mcn... These files look encrypted.

There are also files starting with
com.nextlimit. ... and
com.maxwell-render. ...
com.maxon. ...

I would zip them all and delete them temporarily.

Also please check your QuickTime installation. There is a Maxwell
QuickTime component in the Maxwell folder. Maybe there's a versioning
conflict or something else going wrong.
what version of QuickTime is installed on your machine?

Boris: I doubt cleaning everything up just to re enter serial numbers is going to resolve things for you. Tech' support at Maxon should be able to help you correctly reinstall your version of Cinema. As already mentioned - Quicktime is a likely source of problems.

If Cinema is crashing - it generates a crash log which helps tech support to track down your problem.

I guess the problem really is somewhere else, not in Cinema install.
Maxwell was working on this machine correctly with Cinema.
This machine was temporary working as a render slave, but now i moved all work files and Apps to it, updated it AND installed Maxwell 1.5.
Now even Maxwell 1.1 is not working with Cinema.
I guess some updates may have loaded incorrectly, or something...

Cinema now crashes even after i downgraded to v1.1... I do not know what to do. I have no ideas. I am totally lost.
When i make any action in Cinema which leads to opening file browser, Cinema crashes.
It first appeared after i installed v1.5, now it happens all the time.

I am going to kill myself...

If anyone has ANY ideas, please, share!!! (and i really mean ANY ideas, i am out of them.)

Yep!
I switched on my old "doctor mode".

Like... When you are a doctor, you find and deal with "bugs" in other people, and doctors like doing it. But none of them likes to find bugs in himself

So, as soon as i stop thinking about the FACT there is a bug and how "bad" this fact is, trying to catch the bug became fun like a hunt!

So this "kill myself" statement became obsolete pretty soon!
