the last one looks really nice!

And the maxwell renders seems to be clearer in that scene. Have you tried it on other scenes? external views of architecture or interiour views?

There is something seriously wrong with your fryrender setup to have render times like that. I believe it has been pointed out to you that there are other similar renders that cleared in less than 3 hours with lower machine specs. I would ask some questions if I were you. ;)

Hi,

Let's please keep this on topic and not turn this into a MW vs Fry war. Image comparisons are fine as long as they remain friendly, respecting both sides.

Thanks,

Nicole

Yep, those rendertimes are so monstrously 'out of whack' there's gotta be some scene problem going on there............all the same, nice to see some direct visual comparisons. :)

It was a joke related the handling of unwanted cristicism in today's media. As i'm explaining it now, it obviously failed ¬¬

The last Fryrender image with the stainless backstrap appears to have some glare, wheras the last Maxwell render doesn't look like it has a glare applied.

The Fryrender's for all their noise do actually look more like photo's of the material in question to me at least.

I'm finding it hard to think this is at all comparitive of the two renderers capabilities and speeds.

Any chance of scene setup screenies and material specifications?

The brushed effect seems more visible in most of the fry renders :? another thing I have noticed bout trying to create a brushed metal in maxwell is that on spherical shapes it is visible straight away but on "flat" surfaces it seems to struggle to create the brushed effect

edit Dont get me wrong I've seen some great renders using brushed steel but personally I find it a mission on flat surfaces.

The render times do seem excessively long. Could this also be partly to do with FryRender being a Beta and M~R is now at 1.1 (hopefully 1.5 soon :!: )? If I remember correctly M~R had a speed increase since the beta days... but nothing that would account for 63 hours of difference.

So, is this a known issue?
