I agree that the ratings/voting issue is complicated and a bit too easy to skew. It's always the problem with small sample groups. A juried system is much better, but harder to implement.

In any case, your materials are fantastic artaud, as are so many others. I'm pretty new to Maxwell so I haven't kicked anything back in yet, but hoping to have something worthy soon.

Thanks to all for sharing such a great set of resources!

Honestly, who cares about ratings anyway? I don't think I've ever looked at a rating and thought to myself "I'm not going to download this material because it has a low rating." That would be absurd! I download the entire library, take a look at each material in context, and discard the ones I don't like.

I think that people who care about ratings probably have issues with their own work and need reassurance by others that they are "the best."

I agree. I personally don't care about ratings. If you're serious about finding a material that fits your need, you will have to search anyway. That's why I find that assigning good keywords to materials (so it's easier to find) is more important then a rating system.

And of course keywords should be simple. I doubt someone is going to search for a "Rössendolffer Avian Glass". But just a simple "glass" assigment would do since in that case, the material will show up on the results on any "glass" search.
