Hi Tora,

Is that a thumbprint or a fingerprint? I'm going to run it through the database and see who it is! :)

All this license stuff is great, but hey that would have taken what an hour!

How about the stuff that might take out hours for us!:

Displacement mapping,
The ability to render out normal maps,
And some way to locate HDRI maps where you want them without 1,000,000 test renders to the point you just give up!!!!!

Man it's incredible how we all get excited that Nextlimit can atually ever get to the point of releasing a maintenance release! I guess we are all so used to dealing on a day by day basis with something that has so many short comings that we forget broken promises of the past and something that can often cause us loss of income due to time in stuffing around.

I'd have bought 300 licenses with the income costs in just the time it takes to position one HDR image where I don't even want it!

I'm not joking we get little offerings of better licensing to overcome incredibly long render times - yeah thanks. Now give those of us who are going broke and cant afford a host of new machines because we have been making trial after trial just to get something out the other end, something!!!!!!!!

you are obviously no programmer if you think thats all dome in a few hours.
i cant believe like some here think they can "demand" anything?
faster, better, more, cheaper, etc...

either you like what is done or not....

you can be sure that NL does the best possible. if it doesnt fit you, and you think others are so much better, so why dont you move on and use another software instead of trolling here like a 14 year old....

some here are happy because the like the new features.

I think he was refering to the license stuff stefan.
I agree with you richard but lets wait one more week, hopefully they are hiding a heap of stuff from us and we havent waited a year for what others can produce in weeks. Unfortuneately this is our only hope, but lets wait and see.

I don't know which thing is actually worse. Trolling like a 14 year old about unrealistic expectations like speed or actually being so positive to think that NL does the best thing possible.

I mean really.. what's worse?? I haven't seen much balanced opinions in a long time.

What are you like a police man or something!!!!

Mate I speak highly of the results achieved from maxwell, that at the same time doesn't mean I'm as excited as everyone else about the new licensing. I'm I believe quite within my right mate after waiting and waiting once for unbroken promises to be fulfilled now I want the thing working!!!!!

Get a real job!

Sorry Stefan I don't mean to be rude (well maybe a little) but evryone seems excited and patting the back of NL when we orignally had so much problem seeing some final results from them.

I too am most excited about the new release and added features but as I said mate anyone hear has a right to be disgruntled about their past performance!

If we all sat around and did the back pat stuff all day they would sit on their lorrells and we won't ever get to see the other features much needed to keep Maxwell at the forefront.

Take one look at Indigo and the development there by one and you can easily see that heavy competition is on the way!

As I suggested not all are happy to get on their knees and thank NL in the way some obviously think they deserve!

well i really dont think nl sit around lazy, or hold back features just for fun.

and yes, i do believe they try the best they can, and they made a hell of a renderengine. also of it hasnt yet "all features".

by the way, feature lists do say not much about the quality of a renderengine in my opinion, and i know a lot of engines and used and learned quite many the last 15 years...

[off topic, sorry ...]

Hey Maximus, cool avatar! Gaston Lagaffe (in French, in the Netherlands he's called Guust Flater) He is my favourite comic character. I've got all albums. His creator Andre Franquin was a true genius.

Cheers to you,

Metin

Metin, hehe i'm glad you like my new avatar :) and it's a great cartoon, gotta love Gaston :D sounds great you been collectiing all albums, i wish i had them all too but i only got my hands on 3 albums :( they're not easy to get ahold of and if so they can cost quite alot. Franquin's signatures on every page are awesome too, always well done even tho so simple.

I'm glad there are fans of Gaston here :) yay!
