Should they have full detail or not ? if not then maybe you could borrow some of the free aircraft models on the web for MS FlightSim and X-Plane then port them to your 3d software and render them.

Michael: I can't see any issues with legality doing that since the aircraft models themselves are distributed freely on the web and extracing aircraft models themselves from the archives should be possible with some type of tool which i'm certain exists out there. However i can't say for sure how it's done but it *should* be possible. If possible i'll dig deeper into this to find a way to extract the models.
