As if the prices weren't bad enough, Adobe is ending cross platform upgrades. In the past you could switch from PC to Mac (or Mac to PC) for no extra charge when upgrading versions, now you need to buy a full version.
Adobe also changed their policy on upgrading from older versions. Before CS3 you could upgrade to the latest version if you owned any previous version of their software. Not any more. For example, if you own Photoshop 6 and want to upgrade to CS3 you are out of luck - you have to pay full price.
