Brett, thank you for the explanation. Your raw output is still very nice and it's good to know this. For a closer look out from render, you could decrease the red color and roughness of the surface. Anyway, it's very nice already!

To get a nice anodised effect set the reflectance (90) to red and well as the reflectance (0).... both red instead of white/grey as usual. Then set the angle to 90 and give it an anisotropy value (like 50-80).

Thanks Will. The mat that I used is adapted from one of the basic carpaint set and it has 3 BSDF layers that have the red colour in the 0 and 90 ref channels, as well as anistropy much like you described. I just couldn't quite get where it needed to be.

There's another layer cleaning up the logo (because the red 90deg ref was making it go off-colour) and one more doing the micro-sweat.
Maybe one of those is complicating things. Not sure - still too new!

Thanks though.

Yeah, i'd start with the one layer at those settings and see if that looks right... its quite a nice looking material considering it's just one layer, then go about figuring out how to map/cut out the logo... i usually always model text and logos to eliminate all that hassle with the layers... or with that logo, as its complicated to model, i'd probably model the outline and extrude it (not sure what you call that feature in whatever software you're using) 0.01mm to create a new face so that you can add the logo to that face.

Thanks tanguy and Maximus!

Thanks Leonardo - post work is what I do for a living so it's my stronger suit for sure. I'm desperately trying to bring my rendering skills up to speed!
