I haven't use Rhino since back, when I was in college (not that long ago '05 )
anyway, back then it was my favorite tool!

Since then I have been using sketchup for my office's need becuase our architecture is a little more "boxy" ... not much I can do about that!

However, I was trying to import some ivy into my projects, and decided to download V4. WOW the integration with Maxwell is amazing compare to before!

Not only that but rhino, recognized my sketchup model (sketchup format! .... how is that even possible??!! )

I might consider sticking a new bill on my bosses account!

If you need Rhino for simple or small things and not often, then it would be nice to have a look at www.moi3d.com which is still in beta stage, free, and in 1-2 months we'll have V1.0 and a cost about 200$

But you couldn't use JD's wonderful plugin... surely that is worth the money alone?!

How well does the integration between SketchUp and Rhino work? Does go two ways, read & write SKP? How about textures, mapping, smoothing, triangulation etc?
I got Modo some time back, and I still haven’t had to time to learn to use it. Now I am thinking Rhino would have been the right choice for my needs as I do ArchViz and some furniture (no monsters or goblins). And Modo has no Maxwell plugin .

I haven't try that much to give you a detail answer but... but you can download rhino 4v (demo) and try it yourself
