During the RC releases they said they were gonna have monthly update letter.

They did that, because most of us were complaining about the lack of communication. That is why we all expect a news letter every month :D

I guess, no anymore :?

My new office really likes Maxwellrender, but the "cores" policy is killing them!
I was really expecting to read a note about this, but nothing was in the spring newsletter.
So now they are looking at the other software  , you know what I mean...
:(

This has got to change, there is an 8 core PC now, why pay two times for one computer... This is very bad marketing.

And I'm one of those who has one of these types of computers.

Same here - I'm upgrading to 8 cores within a couple of weeks. I don't much like the quality of the infamous "other" engine, but i think i will have to live with it, if the license policy isn´t changed.

Hi,

About the newsletter... Paxreid, it was not at all my intention to "blame" anything on anyone's misunderstanding. Of course everyone was expecting a newsletter every month, because we released one every month and called them January, February, etc.
What I meant was that (naturally) everyone is expecting a monthly newsletter, but it is not always possible to release one every month or maybe not exactly within one month, or maybe we will have something to say every two weeks.

So to not make people wait for it, and to stop comments like "It's March 31, 23:59 hrs, and there is no newsletter, nooooooooo!!" we decided to start releasing newsletters whenever we have something important to say. This will be more often than every three months.

Maximus: release dates.. uffff.. As usual: it will be ready when it's ready. we are putting some finishing touches, testing, etc... We will give you more info about the upcoming release and the new / improved features step by step. As mentioned in the newsletter, we have only touched the tip of the iceberg.

Thanks for your patience as always.

it seems that the release day is far away, if there are still several feature infos planned... :?
...so maybe not Q1 2007, but Q3 2007

...there are already multicore cpus available? ...is this true?

I agree with you, Nicole, a newsletter has to include some news, not just what you intend to do, but what you did.
I don't care about release dates, I do care about frequent updates... Many small apps release small updates, like Rel 2.0 build 1852, or 2.1.1,2.1.2 etc, I bet you've seen them. NL has to do something like that too. There were small problems that could have been fixed with 1-2 small updates, before the main version. This keeps us happy and it is a nice way to correct some mistakes.
I hope 1.2 is 100% solid so we don't need any updates and fixes.

is it so hard to write a non-evasive newsletter?
Today i ask myself if it will be out tomorrow or the next month
I can't believe we are so ignorant about our so loved tool

I don't want to have bad words, but seriously, NL, you should buy yourself a new communication plan

WE WANT TO KNOW
