Let me rephrase .... 
Each one is a quad-core , .....so, in a desktop system you can have one Qx6700(4) and in a server environment you can have two 53xx Xeons(8). There's not a situation where you can have two Kentsfields (6700's) running together. ...at least not to my knowledge.
One is not faster than the other, ....essentially it's the same chip, ..just packaged differently for marketing sector purposes.
Practically speaking though, ....a pair of 2.66 Xeon's (8 cores) on a server board is faster than a single 4 core QX6700 in a desktop sytem ------ but, not by much ... , especially considering the cost difference between machines.
Check the top of the 1st page and you can see how the 4cores stack up against the 8 cores. They're right there in terms of performance with MW or any multi-threaded app --- mostly just rendering and video encoding.
Also: Very curious how all procs will affect the speedtest with 1.2. ...should be interesting. I'm sure they already know, ...but everyone's got laryngitis.
