This has probably already been said, but:
We really need relative texture paths... I jusr changed my

I have an external hard drive now with all my maxwell materials on it so if I move a project at least I only have one location to go to.... but WHAT A PAIN.

please fix.

+ 1 !!!

Very useful, I think can be...

1 - look in the folder of the Mxs !!!!
2 - look in a specific subfolder (ex. called "textures" or is too original...?)
3 - follow the ...white rabbit ... the path.

Very confused I think I could be :>)

There ia materials database sub folder with a textures directory in it... but that will not be searched by the Maya plugin from hypershade as far as I ahave tried at least anyway. It "might" work for MXS but do not think it does.

So yodo master... I am not afraid...

Yodo: "You will be, you will be."

One more here.

A workaround:

I don't know in mac, but in windows you can map any folder as network drive ; if you assign on every PC the same drive letter to textures and mxms folder you'll have no problem when moving files (if you assign textures through network drive).

That's how I've been handling mine.......
