now i did see... if it only were the reality.

it is a little misleading though.

their software is so insanely complex that needs many years to scratch the surface...

what these people discuss there... 200 people painfully model in the background.

my opinion.

I remember seeing this comercial last year a lot of times on "Eurosport" during Tour de France telecasts.

Dassault owns Solidworks, which is easy enough that you could pick it up in a day. Even Catia has borrowed much of the Solidworks interface- it's a lot easier to use than it was in the V4 days.

The funny thing there is that was probably all done with 3d max or maya. They do own solidworks, and it is pretty easy to learn like superbad says. I picked up on it pretty well in a week or so. I have not used Catia so I cant vouch for that.

Didn't you? :) To be fair, this was in 1997, and there were far fewer features back then. The first thing I modeled was a racing damper (with internals), and it took a day and a half. The SW interface was very similar to the 2D package we were using at the time (Ashlar Vellum), so it was very easy. Same thing would take a couple hours now.

I actually don't like Solidworks, but I use it... cos that's the software I was taught. I'm still learning lots each month 3 years on.
