I Think I actually used the texture Tom used in his example (if its from Arroway Textures).

I would prefer the blurred texture instead of a pixilated one.

I HATE that I cant express what I want to say in english. If I was good at english, I would write a sooo much longer post, But Im not. ;)

Why don't you email me the floor and related files in your scene? I can check them for you ;)

As you see there is something going wrong in your scene, because my render doesn't show pixels. It's not correct saying Maxwell is making your textures worse than you use. It's using textures without changing them.

tom, i think he use your 1024pixel version, as the pixalation in the render looks almost identical than your example. i still don´t know where the 6000 pixel come from, but maybe you find out.
perhaps you really send your scene to tom, sunlightRocker.

so now that everything is clear, i can leave you two guys alone here? :)

I dont say that something is wrong In my scene or with maxwell. I know that the texture is rendered the right way. The pixels shows up, cuz thats the way the texture looks, but when using the same texture in example Mental Ray, it blurs out and the final result looks better in my opinion. I have never said that its a bug. I would rather say that "there-is-a-workaround".

I could send you the file when back at my office, but I dont really think its nessesary, cuz I already know you are right Tom. I just want maxwell to blur out my textures when Im rendering "to close". ;)

Ah!:D You don't need to render with lowres textures for making us aware of interpolation is needed. :) It's on our mind already ;)

So, is this a known issue?
