Well, it's not utter shit, but it's not comfortable and there are a lot of things that ive been longing for since max5 or before and haven't even been touched. It has become a bit clumsy compared with other modelers.

please excuse that "utter shit" remark. it came out abit too strong - reading it again now.

i just get the feeling that there is not much going on with max with the last versions while other modelers pumped out feature after feature.

just yesterday a colleague showed me some tricks with xsi that made my jaw drop. but then again xsi has no unwrapper at all! therefore captain obvious to the rescue: theres not a one-for-all tool out there yet. ...DAMN!

There are at least 3 ways to make round fillet in max.
First is using a script that converts poly to Editable Spline, makes fillets to selected edges and adds surface modifier. Not-so-fast to edit this way, and I don't use it now.
Second is chamfering selected edges by value X -> then chamfer by value X/3 -> chamfer by value X/9 and so on. I use this tip mostly.
The third way is using a PolyBoost "flow connect" feature, it's very fast and gives good results.

Hope this helps someone. :)
