Evening fellow Maxwellians & others
Yet again there's a lack of challenges on the forum, and now i do think it's time that we have something that keeps things in motion here until we get the new 1.2 to play with.
The theme of this challenge is intentionally set to be diffuse to make it more challenging for everyone so all i ask is that you just obey the rules which is all i ask that you do.
Theme: No theme, create your own based upon whatever free models you have or find on the web.
Rules:
1. ALL models must be pre-made, non of them may be created by yourself. Models can be either commercial models of any shape, form or size. Selfmade models are strictly prohibited and if they appear in your scene you will be disqualified from the challenge. This rule is important so don't break it please!
2. Time for the challenge is one full month, meaning you got all of February on you to create something and then contribute it to the challenge at the 28th February.
3. Render resolutions may be from 800x600 and up to whatever you like above that resolution.
4. Poser models are ofcourse allowed for those of you who wanna utilize them as they are also pre-made.
5. The only models you are allowed to create yourself for your scene are flat plane emitter type objects and things like that, and if you're aiming for a studiosetup type scene you may also model the floor/walls your model(s) will stand on. But nothing more than that.
6. Upon request or on your own will you should be prepared to share your mxm's on the mxm site, and as always if you used commercial textures for those then you can't share them. But that should be common sense by now.
7. Textures.. if you have any pre-made one's then use those if possible, but if you run into a corner and must create some textures to finish your scene then you are allowed to do so.
8. Judges are everyone of us here on the forum who will vote on technical quality, and most creative usage of pre-made models and then ofcourse also rendering quality.
9. You can ofcourse contribute with as many renderings as you want, there's no limit. But the amount of renderings you contribute with doesn't make you a instant winner.
10. If necessary you're allowed to do some modifications to the pre-made objects in your scenes, obvious modifications are to change textures and materials, but also you can exchange screws, adjust pillows and whatever else it may be. But don't change something so much it no longer looks like the object you initially intended to use. Use some sorta selfmoderation. Now i know this is difficult to ask for but atleast try..
11. Last but not least the most important rule of all.. have fun and see this as a inspiring and creative challenge even tho you're not allowed to model yourself this time around.
(the idea is that you should get excersize in learning to setup scenes, create mxm's and light your scenes aswell as render them nicely using pre-built models)
I hope to see alot of you participating in this challenge
..and if so it'd be nice if NL could pitch in with some prizes for the top 3 winners.
