Hi guys,

I'm working on this new project/job, it's going to be a one on one functional replica of Deckard's Blaster,
The blaster was actually made from two weapons, the first is the Steyr Mannlicher .222 model SL receiver and was used for the top part, the second was a Charter Arms .44 Special Bulldog revolver

Especially the grip and other organic parts will be a challenge in Rhino, So I'll be doing lots of lofting ;)
For the more complicated parts I will use Rhino 4,

That handle looks like a piece of cake for Rhino (it thrives on that stuff). I can see a couple of two rail sweeps, a few trims, and a blendSrf (a couple of times)... just looking at it.

Can you explain the Rhino process to produce your model so far?

I would have poly modeled all the pieces, but this 'I can see a couple of two rail sweeps, a few trims, and a blendSrf (a couple of times)...' system seems as though it would save me some time.

Not sure about saving time; since you need to build some experience to see the process ahead of time (and it maybe a jump to move from mesh modeling to nurbs; thinking of everything as hollow sheet metal bent and welded)

Here it is a fairly simple shape:
-Starts with some guides to do a 2 rail sweep for the upper and lower surface
-Some trim and then a blend
-Then some more trim and a networkSrf for the finger bumps
