A hair dryer (not a heat gun) helps to loosen the compound, some of the factory installed ones are really stuck....

You would have to remove the supplied fan from the graphics card. Trickiest part is detaching it from the gpu, it's stuck with thermal compound pretty good....just twist the heatsink back and forth instead of trying to remove it in one go.
