Like... good meal for two in a good but not the most expensive restaurants is like... 50$-80$...

The phone prices are so high cause they are sold without contracts at all.
The operator doesn't pay a part of the phone's price, but if you are unhapy with an operator you just quit and don't give them any extra money.
And the contracts are not lomited to any time, you use it as long as you like. That's kinda good :). BTW contract fees are not always paid,
you may use a phone and pay ONLY for the calls you made, no extra payments are forced.
I personally pay 25$ a month, get 180 minutes and 60 sms messages included (the price is equal to separate payment) and at the end of the month either i pay for calls/sms above this included ones, or the operator transfers the unused money to the next month.
I don't know about the system in other countries though...

well in tis case then it is pretty fair... (similar resto cost 120 euros here for two..) I believe they give extra phones for nothing here, because you are engaged with the operator.. for like 2 years.. but someone could elaborate better than me on Phone contracts..

How about in french jdp... moi-pod...

I vote for a Me-Myself & I-Pod..

Not entirely as ugly as the rest of Apples "innovative" designs. Still only a cell phone though...using OS X, which in it self is a reason for not buying it.

I wonder though, how much Apple will be forced to pay for using the already registered name iPhone...

Man, you really are Mr Sunshine :P

Does anything impress you, even slightly? Did you actually see the presentation? Calling this only a cell phone is like calling a Ferrari only another bandwagon that has a gasoline engine. But it's still just a way to get you from A to B, right?

A Ferrari would´ve impressed me, but that´s a work of art. ;)

No, Apple design have never impressed me. They´ve gone from "alien antennas" to bed-remote style mp3 players, yet they keep calling it innovative.

Just curious:

What is a beautyful design for you, and what do you call a good OS?

No offence meant.

Non taken.

If you refer to cell phones, there are none. To name an example of beautiful design, take the Ferrari mentioned above. It´s timeless.

As for the OS, i´ve worked with both Windows and OS X, and i´ld choose Windows every time. In my personal opinon it´s far more stable and quicker to work with.

Great :)

For me personally design is good, when it makes a thing comfortable to use primarily. Visuals are on a second place.
And Mac for me is no more then a easy to use tool. No fanatism here in me:)

I like Apple products only because they (yet) never failed my expectations. That's all.

You´re a lucky man. I´m sometimes required to do jobs with the Macs at work, and i´m afraid i can´t share your positive thoughts about Apple products. :P
