@ Altraaz... thanks a lot !
@ Thomas.. I plan somewhere between 30 and 40 "Ready2Render" Pieces of food.. from raw to elaborated, from casual to special events..
Tom, I planed some sardines filets à la Provençale... :D
Isega, This is a plain croissant... so no powder sugar.. but yes a powdered sugar version could be done.. The hardest part was the food choice.. French enough because I am a French cook, and in the same time, some international dishes..
The mxm is pretty simple.. the map is not.. before the DVD launch, there will be some free food to taste the mxm flavour.. stay tuned..
@4Hero... thanks a lot, I love your renders too..
Markus your words are sweet.. my first tester is always Isabelle daughter of Bibi, when she says, ow I would eat it, then I know it's close to good...
Pierre, there will be some ready sets..Like petit déjeuner for one people, including basket of viennoiseries, bread, butter, etc... so why not a baguette beurrée... hehe..
Fernando, thanks a lot... the zombie... ahah.. yes the skin.. :D
haha... Maximus.. A wire... no problemas.. Thanks Max ! what greater words than saying I don't trust it's a render.. Thanks my friend.
... wanna see the wies too Markus.. then re-thank you..
Stephen, some international version of some pieces are previewed.. Thanks Stephen !
@ Luke, hey Luke, I'll see you in the Mubox forum... I've had a hard time at the begining because of my old machine I guess.. and Tibor sent me a new version.. that works.. (1.0.3) (btw, my name there is also Hervé)
JurX, thanks for the words !
Christo... ahhh Christo my friend.. (ok, I say it in front of all the People here.. Christo is one of my best friends.. now the world knows it.. voila.. thanks Chris for the words !
hey Hyltom, Thanks ! It's a render. Btw, do they sell croissants in China.. just curious.. I guess it is known..?
Glyptimax, well I do plan a tut from A-Z .. but I am by myself.. so not immediatley.. but it is planned..

Thanks so much for your support Maxwellians ! :D :D

They even sell croissants in Russia! Yummy-yummy!
Very tasty render!
Did you make the mapping in Mudbox? Is it possible there?

Incredible render. Makes me feel the urge to rush to the nearest "boulangerie" to get one. Real 3D magic here!
Can't wait for the whole breakfast.

Very nice Hervé ! The only non realistic part is the edges/overall shape of the croissant which are a bit "smooth".. displacement could help, but maybe you can trick it, like putting a clone of the croissant mesh slightly beveled on top of the actual mesh with a "bout de pates feuilletée croustillante un peu décollée" clipmap ! :)

Food is a challenging subject for 3d, a lot of cool materials! But who could do it better than you ?! ;)

Boris, there are no possibilities to texture paint in Mudbox yet.. I do think it's planned though... so in Russia too they sell croissants... good to know ! thanks !

hey Henri, thanks a lot ! Some brioches, escargots, breads, jelly pots, etc.. are on their way...
I'll have setups for Breakfast, lunch , dinner, class dinner..

Thanks Tokiop ! hehe.. this croissant is just an essai for the "viennoiseries", the pâte feuilletée is tricky, but I'll get there..
The clipmap idea is good, thanks..

You're right, my background helps a lot here...

hehe, show us more soon!

Ii guess Jotero could be of some help too, to model volumetric "pâte feuilletée" if you plan an inside cut of a "pain au chocolat" :p
