Hey all,

Just looking for some advice regarding Dosch Textures - Are these really that good? Abit pricey but if they are woth it then thats fine. Even if some one is able to post a material render if you own any dosch textures that would be great! Thanks

I've got a few Dosch Textures libraries. They are very nice. The plant one though nice has too few textures IMO.

The quality is better then most other texture libraries that I have

Hm, bit of a mixed bag I think.. some of them are nice, others are useles (very fake looking handdrawn stuff). I quite like the texture cd's from 3dtotal.com myself. Did you consider the Arroway texture sets?

Hey

@pluMmet - Thats good to know have you got Industrial Textures V3 if so any good?

@dutch_designer - Yes Arrow textures are good but I personally think 3Dtotal textures are better as they supply all the shaded maps including Normal maps! and have more of a variety.

Quick question bout 3D total textures : There are so many shaded maps available and I know where the diffuse, specular, bump maps will go in maxwell but what bout the overlay, mask & normal map go(if you already using bump map)? Will it just be multiple layers? can you use both normal and bump map?

what they call overlay maps are just diffuse maps that you can blend with other ones (do they call them color?) through the masks they provide, nothing fancier than this. assuming you use a 3d package/renderer that supports blending/mixing of different maps that is.

as long as normals go, they don't give you anything you couldn't get yourself out of a greyscale, plain bump map, using ps and the nvidia plugin.

nope, not in maxwell. it's either one or the other.

I have most of the 3d total stuff as well...The 3d total stuff is great right of the bat just as they are but most of my texture work is done thru 3d paint programs. The Dosch stuff is great for that. That is to say as a base texture. In fact they are great for that!

I do believe I have the Industrial Texture V3 pack. I'll double check :? Unfortuniatly I'm not at home and I'm working 12 hour days right now. I won't have time at home to do anythin other then sleep until after Christmas.

I also have a Merlin Studio Texture pack (Or some name like that) and I must say that Dosch is way better then those guys. I don't have any Arroway textures but I am getting the Genome (spelled wrong of course) wood texture pack for Christmas. I'll let yoou guys know about that one too.
