Hey guys.

I installed this about a week ago, and so far its been doing its job pretty well. Most of you probably have backup solutions, but for us little guys, this goes a long way towards helping to make things easier. It basically syncs folders in 2 separate locations, and can be run automatically or manually. Reviews of the thing seem mixed, but its free. I like free.

Figured I'd spread the love :)

Imagine that there's $20000 SGI before you on the table, and instead of working, you typing some unix crap, like "dd if=/dev/sdc1 of=/dev/tape bs=1000000". Or something like "sudo chmod uo+rw ~/projects/current_blockbuster_movie/part1/ep17/shot223/out/render4/ep17_sh223.*.sgi". Or manuallymount/unmount cd-rom/flash drive everytime you need to change them.

Then think again.

Nortons 'save and restore' pretty much does it all - happy so far (6 months) - pretty cheap as well

That's not 100% true. I've just got a broken DVD (not even a scratch, it just refuses to read a part) and lost a big part of a job I stored there. :/

maybe try it in a really old DVD player - sounds odd but the new ones seem to be more security sensitive and picky - just a thought - good luck!
