Please post here anything else (not relating to Maxwell technical matters)

I am again looking for some software that I can import Max models into, to take to clients and wander through as in a pc game kind of way, with joystick or cursor keys.

Know of any software that does this, Besides Autodesk DWG Viewer?

As cheap or expensive as you like. I remember seeing one a while back that was really impressive and quite expensive. I can't remember where I saw it and what is was called. Whish is incredibly useful. I have tried many a search on google to no avail.

I keep getting reminded by the directors that I must find a solution to allow them to take models to clients on a weekly basis!!!!

Please help!!! A fellow Maxwell user needs help badly!

Blender 3D 2.42a.

Blender walk through tutorial:- http://www.blender3d.org/cms/3D_Walkthrough.340.0.html

This tutorial describes how to use the Blender scene file walkthrough_template.blend. (Click here for Online demo)

Blender product presentation:- http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Tutorials.93.0.html

This tutorial describes how to use a prebuilt Blender scene file template for product presentation. (Click here for Online demo)

Blender can import 3DS files and many other model formats, so you will be able to port the 3DSMax objects across correctly.

Thanks for your replies. These are very much appreciated.

I will look into all three, and hopefully one will satisfy my bosses needs.

If there are anymore out there, please don't stop adding to the list Maxwell people!

Aji, what's your opinion of the UR2E for presentation purposes?

Is the workflow from model to presentation, a relatively easy process?

Cheers for the link,

Tim.

Just like the games, unreal's editor "unrealed" is what you are using.
You can model with brushes from UnrealEd but what I think you want to
do is to use your native 3dapp, render to texture with Maxwell and export
everything to unrealEd. Haven't really tried to create a complete level from
my 3dapp thou. Guess you need to try that out.

It's easy to use, dynamic lights, elevators and doors can even be
sound triggerd. You can completely create a house with light switches,
elevators and door that are fully interact able. You can even show your
work over internet, the maps and textures downloads automatically from the
client when he/she log in. All they need it the client software and internet
connection. You can even speak and type directly to your costumers within
the software, and say "Do you like this door here or should I move it over here?"

I haven't really figure it out yet, it isn't really my area and I do not think
the market is ready for this described above. But perhaps I'm mistaking?

Your experience may differ from mine so go ahead, try it by all means!
by the way, first you need the render to texture feature in Maxwell! =)

Cheers for the reply.

There's an interesting article in the back of the current 3DWorld mag, that goes into detail regarding presentations and demos created using the URE2 system.

You can't use it for anything commercial, unless you buy a commercial licence. So for in house previz it's great but anything more than that, you need a licence.
