Wow. That's probably the best exterior house render I've ever seen here. The only thing I can fault is the flat grass.

much better, even though I would loose that sky and replace it with a better plate.

bump won't help you with the grass even if it works, I guess you're better off adding/painting it in post.

rivoli, not sure what you mean by plate?

heres the thing, this sky image is a HIGH resolution image (2000x8000 HDR) Why is it so pixelated for such a high resolution?

Agree with Rivoli..........grass/sky could change, but thank goodness you didn't drop any 3d people in there to ruin it! :)

sorry about that, I meant background photo.

did you add it in post or is it rendered directly in maxwell as a background hdr? if so is it set to screen mapping?

its a background hdr rendered in, and screen mapping is disabled.
How does that function work?

When it's disabled, you image is like a sphere all around your scene...when enabled your image is placed as a plane background.

I guess, never actually used studio so I might be totally wrong, that if don't enable it studio will use it as a spherical environment (giving the result you see in your image).

anyway, if I were you I'd add the sky in post, that will give you much more control on what you do.

Thanx
The roof texture is a standard unmodified green rough metal material added to the roof.
I modeled the standing seems in my CAD program :)
