fabulous image.
But when seeing your reflection, it seems that is an HDRI you use to illuminate your scene, or do you model all the kitchen ?

Great rendering. One of the best ones ever in my opinion.
The only material that dosn't convince me 100% is the wood. It is realistic but not in that part of a old drawer i think. It's only too reflective. Anyway... great work.

Ah Tora, I had not seen it is you.. Amazing, you make us dream! You make reflections of the forks in the wood poetic ;)

[Edit] there may be a texture problem on the wood, it is not always continuous

thank you very much guys,

I noticed the blurred refleclections too late and have been to lazy to re-render the scene. About the orientation of the wood: Since- for some unknwon mysterious reason- maxwell is not able to display ANY textures in my viewport nor open the mat editor texturing is very frustating. I texture everything in 3ds max scanline activated to see the texture placement, create my materials offline in mxed, export the material and import it back when I am in max and have finished texturing....
Pretty crappy workflow, on none of my 3PC's mxed works correctly and I have never seen a texture in my vieport since the last two plugins...
So that might be the reason my some of my UV coordinates are looking messed up...
But anyway, thanks a lot for all you nice comments.

Regards,

Benjamin

I've got the same graphic card as you and use 3dsmax too, but I can see the textures. Try changing the preview texture at the eye button (top right) in the mxed and resave, then change it back to the texture you want to be shown and save again. The materials keep an independent texture for preview that sometimes does not match any of the active texture :!: or keep old paths. Changing the texture updates the preview image.
Hope it helps.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. :D

I like the gouges in the dividers - like a nip from a thickness planer. Reminds me of my cabinet-building days - I wasn't too good with the planer.

Anything about the rendering has already been covered... The only thing I would do would be to randomize the position of the utensils a bit more. The act of opening the drawer would move those front forks around a bit. Slam it and they would be everywhere. Unless of course... the drawer belongs to a neat freak. :)

Also, most drawers collect a certain amount of 'crud'. Perhaps a bit of grunge noise in the corners and edges of the felt base panel?

Otherwise, stunning!
