Load emission data file?

I noticed that under Emitter's input there is an option for "Load emission data file." It's currently disabled. Anybody have a clue what the will be used for in the future?

dual opterons 2.8ghz, 3gigs ram, 3ds max 7

That's what I thought when I first saw it also. Anybody else got any ideas?
