I agree. What is with all this weird name stuff. It was much easier to understand when it was Pentium 3 then pentium 4, and as the numbers went up you knew you were getting a more powerful chip, and by roughly how much. Now I have no clue what to get. Everytime I get my sights halfway set on starting to buy a new machine they come out with 3 new chips with weird codenames like killroy and watercrest that give you no clue how fast it is compared to the older ones. Maybe I am just getting old, and confused easier these days

Thanks for the link Cyberfish. Either way my system's probably gonna be quad-core ready with a P5W-DH, so I might drop one in a year later (unless i suddenly make big money or win the lottery).

Yes, it's basically two Core 2 Duo's on a single socket pakage.

No. The Core 2 Extreme X6800 is dual core. It's in the 'extreme' line because of it's speed and power consumption.
