I think the new gallery looks amazing. HUGE improvement from some of the old images they had up. Look at those exteriors, slick.

i don't have seen yet any reflected caustics in fryrender's gallery so it's 100% impossible to compare speed and quality of toose two softwares.

True in general but then have you ever ever experienced a company treat paying customers as bad as NL? Over years?

Oh and just now while reading a huge thread in general forum it just got deleted.... customers were voicing their disaproval with NLs stalling tactics, gigantic development times needed for simple features etc.

This all speaks for itself...

well 1.0 is out a few months! not years.

before you where paying betatester-free for your own choise, nobody forced to. and everybody should know what beta and alpha testing means if he decide to prebuy a beta...

sorry i dont see any strange here, only that people are not getting what it means to participate in a betatest.

if you wanted to be on the save side, you had the possibilty to wait for 1.0 test the demo and then decide...

betaprograms are only for the braves...

cheers

... but many plugins are in beta stage allways. For example look at the cinema forum. And the rhino forum seem to be dead.

maxwell is 1.0, the plugins are still not finished.

but we are talking about months not years, anything before was everybodies own risk.

... but the plugins are selled like final products. How would you call this? A lie? Wrong advertisement? After more than one year Maxwell I must say: if I hear "NL" than I think NextLie.

no, this thread was not closed because of customers complaining.
there was a real bad quarrel between some forum members which lasted over several pages. i do not go into details but the language used was not acceptable.
at least this is the reason i am thinking of.

btw. to all who are concerned:
please, if you get into a debate obout something. try to stay on topic and try to use a non-offending language !
i was really shocked when i read through the thread.
