i think memory usage was one of the advantages of 64bit. wasn´t it?

i really do not get your point, sorry
My point is that you should already be able to render out highres with a 32-bit system.
I don´t mind a 64-bit system, it allows for more complex scenes and far more objects , but it shouldn´t have to be necessary only to render out something larger than A3-size.
An A-3 is 11.75" x 16.5" or 297mm x 420mm. I've rendered much larger than that on my 32 bit system. I recently did an 11 megapixel image, 4000 x 1700+. With a single core CPU and 2 gigs of RAM.
Is your A-3 wall Maxwell related or hardware related?
I just don't recall reading posts about people not being able to render anything larger than A-3.
I'n not trying to give you a hard time, just wondering about the limitation you're experiencing.

Yes - great - I enjoyed that. I need to figure out a reason for needing that. Maybe I can simulate sprinkler systems raining on my designs - you know - just in case.... :)

I'm sure the insurance people could appreciate that ... :P

I've had that happen on a project before ... ..it's not good.

Just for your information Nicole:

I don't know if your having any problems with the mailing list but I've already received 5 newsletter mails (the same, of course); three at the correct mail address and two more at two different old mail address.

I've unsubscribed from the last two.

I guess you are still getting the touch of it.

Hi Fernando,

My apologies - like you said, we are still getting the touch of it. You are obviously included in more than one of the mailing lists. It's our intention to prevent this for future newsletters.

Thanks for letting me know.

The only successful render i´ve been able to produce with Maxwell was 3500x2500, and it was just barely. If i´m going to use it for printing, it´s a decent A3 at best. I just used the format as an example.
I´ve been trying to render out a scene 5000x5000+ for printing purposes on a single core with 3 gigs of RAM, with no luck whatsoever, hd option haven´t worked.
I´m well aware that it´s a high poly scene with a large number of objects, but AR can do this with ease, while Maxwell can´t, so i´m fairly confident it´s a Maxwell issue. It´s simply a memory hog.

I´m not trying to argue against the release, i just hope that NL will do something about these memory issues we have now, and not simply refer people to 64bit systems in order to render out high resolution images.
