First, lovely render!! :!: :!:

But indeed it seems to be a bit long, what's your set-up? what kind of light source are you using, and what is the poly count of your light source.
I'm sure you know this but make sure that your light source object is as low poly as possible

You done a great job on that one CJ  now i'm envious of your result.

About the extreme rendertime, i think that's related to your closed box surrounding the scene itself and then you get alot of bounced secondary light which makes Maxwell crawl as fast as a dead snail on a icey road. I'd cut off the box a bit above the cameras viewpoint so you got like the lower half of the cube only, then use skydome with the yellowish color and place a emitter to light the scene with. That should speed up your rendering much more.

If I do that, when I set the Lumens to 0 (since I don't want the sky lighting my scene), will it still show the same color as the stage? Or will it turn black?

I think just using your emitter without any other light and cutting the box as Maximus said will speed it up. That will allow the light rays to escape from the scene. A ray that cannot "escape" will keep requesting calculation till it extints. If the ray escapes the calculation stops.

I imagine....
