@otacon: I have glass in the windows when using the flashlight style renderings and I don't have glass in the windows when using daytime shots.
I found that dielectrics always introduce soooo much noise to your image which is hard to get rid of. :(
@anton: I use physical sky for my daytime shots with a deactivated sun in most of the times and an emitter object acting as sun. Using an emitter instead of the sunlight system renders faster with less grain and is more flexible.

can you tell as where and how big is the "sun" emitter object... i've tried this many times but didn't get this amazing result you have.

thanks again for your comments guys, and yes I use neat image for noise reduction. I bet they have some kinda mysterious increase in salery/downloads these days... :D
@bakbek: well, I adjust the size of the emiiter object to obtain different types of shadows. a large emitter creates very soft shadows (as it practically acts like a large arealight) and a small one createst hard shadows. I use an emitter size of 2*2 cm for my flashlightimages which is placed in a small box with the opening facing into the scene. just think of how a real flashlight works and you got it.
I can't remember the size of my sunobject but it was around 40*50 cm I think...I tell you next week if you like.
