That prof should be sweating more - he has really landed in the doodoo if he had all that sort of info on a computer that could so easily be stolen! Ex - consultant I should think by now.

Anyway - it happens all the time - in Britain anyway - James Bond is for ever getting drunk in pubs and forgetting his laptop - no harm done.

Alright, ..my take on the professor is that is that he's puffing out his chest. Basically, ....he's in a world of sh_t. Ultimately, ... he's responsible for the laptop and the information contained therein. Sure, ...could the kid get in trouble ... ? ---of course, ... but I don't think he'd be the only one. What's really at stake is the professor's credibility with the people who entrusted him with the very valuable and private information. He's sweating bullets, ...it's written all over him.
