I have to admit I'm just hypnotized by this series of renders. Your's and the latest from Herve' are helping me get a conceptual grip on photorealistic rendering.
And realizing its way beyond my ability at the moment.
Which I've known from the start.
As I am expected to generate antiseptic, glam shots of jewelry-to-be, this whole atmospheric concept of rendering is new to me.
Anything that creates aesthetic questions and challenges is good, and I am very appreciative for the insights and challenges your work have given me.
Time to go do the dishes. So its back to reality.

This last one is the best so far

Did you apply glare for it, or also some diffusing in PS?

Thanks @ everyone. :)

The last one is a direct output from Maxwell using glare. No photoshop work, only denoising (mild). I let it cook for 14 hours to make the tiny bump map detail come through.
