Thank you for the link Hervé. Nice tool. The images of the web pages are to much compressed for my taste, but I have install the tool and test it - the tonemapping strength can be adjusted per simple slider. :)

Hmm, I have some problems with the tool here. For example: set intensity at 0% and move white point slider - the image looks darker but I can not move the slider so, that the previous shown bright image come back, only if I move the intensity slider a little. The preview has an "update preview" problem. :?

Hervé, most of the results on their web seem weird to my eyes. They simply kill the contrast we naturally get used to. I didn't like that histogram trick, it's exactly like Shadow/Highight feature of PS. Sometimes good but mostly end up with unrealistic contrast depth.
